Long Season
Long Season is a brand that aesthetically has a very South African look—if you're familiar with the style from there—but it could also be seen as Scandinavian or Japanese. Long Season’s designs feature earthy colors and minimalist shapes with bold proportions.
Kiggy Kgomotso founded Long Season in 2018. She had already been working in the fashion industry for a long time, wearing many hats, and ran a store in Johannesburg with three others, exclusively selling South African brands. In 2018, she took a bold step and decided to present herself as a designer, along with her brand Long Season, at a show.
As a designer, Kiggy experiments with new construction techniques. Because of this, Long Season is on its way to becoming a size-inclusive brand; Kiggy wants all items to fit both the smallest and largest people. She draws inspiration for her designs from her family’s history, architecture, and smart use of space. These references are reflected in her creations: “I make modular items that you can play with, allowing you to create your own look time and time again.”
