Fashion is a mirror of the world, a reflection of the myriad expressions of identity, creativity and imagination happening in cultures across the globe and an open invitation to those with an interest in style and the diversity of creative expression. But in the Netherlands, that interest seems to rarely extend beyond the borders of Europe. Butter exists to introduce those with this interest and the Dutch fashion industry to the cutting edge of contemporary fashion from Africa in all its diversity, along with the designers and creative communities behind the creations. We do so by connecting people and organisations to designers, and by showcasing the latter through curated events and video and magazine profiles.
